The firm was founded by Jayson R. Elliott, a Palo Alto-based attorney and 26-year entrepreneur who has spent his career at the intersection of law, technology, and business in Silicon Valley.
Bay Legal is not a traditional law firm in the conventional sense. It is a technology-enabled legal services platform that combines licensed California attorneys with the operational infrastructure of a modern professional services firm — AI-assisted research, secure remote document management, global support staff, and structured intake and case management systems that most small firms have never built.

Our Growth
Bay Legal's operational summary for 2024–2025 documented a 2,900% expansion — growing from two team members at the start of 2024 to more than 60 professionals by the end of 2025. This growth was powered by a partnership with XPRTS Inc., a staffing and technology company, which embedded highly trained global support professionals directly within Bay Legal's operations — enabling faster intake, more thorough drafting, and better client communication at scale.
The firm's long-term plan targets approximately 300 staff by 2030, supporting a reliable capacity for increased client demand. Bay Legal currently maintains offices in Palo Alto and Los Angeles, with a Sacramento office scheduled to open in mid-2026.
